Mattes use quilted fabric made of high quality wear-resistant velvet or cotton. The Spine-Free design reliably prevents any pressure on the wither and spine.  It is recommended that this pad is used with the standard Mattes cloth or a high wither standard cloth. 
 
Available in a 2 or 4 pocket system (Additional shims available, please contact us).  Each pocket will take up to 6 x 5mm Ploy-Flex shims, giving up to 30mm of adjustment per pocket. Shims can be added to and removed quickly and easily. Without the shims the cloth can be used as an ordinary cloth. 
 
In the core of the pad a two layer (Poly-Flex) is used for shape retention, spreading pressure and padding.  The half pad is breathable.
 
It is recommended that Melp is used to wash sheepskin/wool products.
